How Do You Make A Top Bun?

Ballerina buns, towering top knots…call them what you will. These rounded hair buns have been an easy celebrity style to make all your own, and they are not difficult to create.

For an easy version simply pull your hair into a high ponytail with a non-damaging elastic. Twist the pony and wrap it around the base. Use a few carefully placed bobby pins to secure the knot and you are all set. For hair that is too slick to hold, separate your pony into three or four sections and do a little back combing to build some security. Smooth the outer edges and then wrap.

If you have finer hair, try picking up a little booster…I saw bun forms on sale at H&M in several hair colors and they were just a few dollars. Make the same pony, pull the tail through a booster and wrap your hair over the top of the rounded foam piece. Again, just secure the ends with bobby pins.

Buns have made a huge wave in the current fashion trends and they won’t be going away anytime soon. They have a formal appeal and really show off a great pair of earrings, and your hair won’t steal the thunder of an elaborate dress. Simple versions can be created to wear to the gym and you can be cool and stylish.

Give the bun a try!

Blow Outs & Event Styling

When it’s time for weddings, engagements, and special moments in your life-it may be a junior prom or a senior ball, a homecoming dance or graduation ceremony-it is time to seek out professional styling services.

At the Elizabeth Nicole Salon we have a full range of looks and styles that can be created for you and we can work with any pictures or styles you bring in for your event. Our Hair Stylists can even compliment the look with Airbrush Makeup and Beach Candy spray tanning services.

Updo n.  is a hair style that involves arranging the hair instead of allowing it to fall freely. It can be as simple as a ponytail, but is more commonly associated with more elaborate styles intended for special occasions such as a prom or wedding.

When deciding upon the right style for you it is best to look through photographs to see if there is something you would really like to wear. The Elizabeth Nicole Salon is constantly adding beautiful photos of hairstyles and color to our Pinterest page so you may easily find something you like on our Special Occasion Hairstyles or there are examples of sleeker up-do’s in our Chignons and French Twists board. We also have boards for Bridal Style and Beautiful Braids. Take the time to look at these styles and others that you may find in magazines or on the internet. Print out a copy of any style that has elements you may like, and don’t worry about having one perfect style because we may decide to blend different elements from different styles to give you a custom design that is truly unique.

Professional styling not only provides you with the right look, but your style will last through the event time. Take some of the stress out of preparing for your event, work with our professional stylists so you can relax and enjoy yourself.
